Extra Information Sheets
Extra Information Sheets

Each of the wedding stationery collections can contain information sheets or cards. They will be printed on high quality paper and in a font to coordinated with your wedding stationery.

Information sheets can prove to be very useful for guests and they can contain a wealth of information about your special day, such as:

Directions

Directions and maps to your ceremony and reception venues.

Accommodation

If appropriate, a list of hotels/guest houses and their prices

Transport

Details of any transport that you have provided including collection points and times. Also a list of taxi numbers could be helpful to guests.

Menu

You may want to provide details of the menu for your special day, so your guests are able to choose in advance. You could provide this on a menu card or on the bottom of an extra information sheet so it can be cut off and returned with an RSVP.

Dress Code

Specify and dress requirements, such as black tie, smart, no jeans etc.

Children

If children are invited you should include their names on the invitations, but if you would like a child-free event include a short, polite note on an extra information sheet such as, "we are sorry but we are unable to accommodate children"

Wedding Gift Information

When couples started using gift lists it was not accepted etiquette to include details of the gift list with your invitations. However, as times have changed and gift lists have become popular it has become much more acceptable, and simpler, to let guests know where a gift list has been set up.

These days it is quite acceptable to ask your guests for money or vouchers as a gift, as the financial pressures of getting married and setting up home together can be quite overwhelming. However, wording the request in a polite, un-pushy manner can be quite challenging so a small verse added to an extra information sheet can be a courteous way to do this. Below are some examples that you could use, or you could use them as inspiration to come up with your own unique verse.

Honeymoon Verses

We know it’s not traditional
It’s not the way it’s done
But instead of a wedding list
We’d like a bit of sun.

Please do not think of us as rude
Please do not take offence
We do not want to upset you
That’s not the way it’s meant.

We’ve lived together quite a while
And all the bills are paid
We’ve got our plates, our pots and pans
Our plans have all been made.

So if you’d like to give a gift
To help us celebrate
Some money for a honeymoon
We would appreciate

The date has been set and we’d love you to come,
To our wedding in (place name), a long way for some,
All you must do, is decide what to wear,
Then polish your jewellery and comb up your hair.

Don’t worry about gifts, don’t buy us a yacht,
The things that we need, we’ve already got.
Our home is quite compact, we may have to move
Then our storage and space will surely improve.

Don’t go out shopping or get yourself stressed,
Don’t alter your plans for a pre wedding rest.
If you want to be generous, despite what we’ve said,
Then save all the hassle and do this instead…..

Don’t know how to word this but will give it our best shot..
Contributions are most welcome, we’ll go somewhere hot!
A honeymoon would be marvellous, to start off our life,
In our long winding journey, as new husband and wife!

Money or Voucher Verses

We are sending out this invitation,
And hope you will join our celebration.

If to send a gift is your intention,
In modesty we would like to mention,

We have already got a kettle and a toaster,
Crockery, dinner mats and coasters,

So rather than something we have already got,
Please give us money for our saving pot.

But, most importantly, we request,
That you turn up as our wedding guest

To celebrate our wedding you may wish to buy us presents
However this is not required, all we want is your presence

If you insist, we must admit, some money would be great
To help us do some home improvements at a later date.

If you still feel the need, to get us a small token,
We would appreciate vouchers for any shop that’s open

Regardless of which choice you make, all we would like to say,
is come along and have some fun, on this our special day.
